Newborn’s Life in Danger After Hospital’s Critical Mistake 

United States: Reports from CBS News indicate that a New York City hospital caused serious bleeding by mistaking a circumcision procedure on a newborn boy, which endangered his life.

The report states that Cole Groth came into the world on March 31 at New York-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital in Manhattan through parents Gabrielle and Tim Groth. 

A healthcare facility implanted a stent into the newborn for heart disease medical treatment shortly before performing the report describes. 

Parents Left in the Dark About Surgical Risks 

The parents indicated that the hospital staff asked about circumcision but neglected to explain that heart defect children face more complications during circumcisions, according to the CBS News report

The Groth family advised CBS News that their son hemorrhaged for more than 10 hours in the neonatal intensive care unit of the hospital. 

According to Gabrielle Groth, “I walk in, and he is extremely pale. He is crying like I’ve never heard before,” CBS News reports. 

Severe Bleeding Leads to Organ Damage 

CBS News reported that Gabrielle and Tim Groth explained their son developed liver, kidney, and brain damage due to excessive bleeding, which left him in critical condition. 

“Due to patient privacy policies, we cannot comment,” as per the statement of NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital, CBS reported.
