This is the only month the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced three verified norovirus cases affecting cruise ships this year.

According to health authorities, 301 passengers and crew members contracted the virus during the two outings in December.

Official government statistics reveal that more than 300 people fell ill with norovirus in December on three different cruise ships.

This is the only month in the year that the American CDC has confirmed three outbreaks of norovirus on cruise ships, US News reported.

During the December outbreaks, 301 passengers and crew members were sickened, according to authorities.

Measures taken by the officials

Measures were taken in the presence of the outbreak: extraordinary sanitation and disinfection, as well as isolation of sick passengers and crews. After the Rotterdam ship docks in Fort Lauderdale, it will be disinfected before the next voyage, the cruise said to CBS News.

However, this was just one of the three norovirus cases reported on ships this month. There were also instances of norovirus outbreaks in Holland.

In the December 4-11 voyage, of the 1,923 passengers, 87 had symptoms of the flu, and an additional four crew members of the 757-member team.
